Also included is a printable script for telling the story of Easter and several fun games you can play with Resurrection Eggs. In this Easter Treasure Hunt, players hunt for Easter eggs containing various clues that eventually lead them to the Easter Treasure! Play individually or in teams comprising players.
Teams can be larger, but smaller teams allow everyone to be involved. You will need 1 copy per team. You do not need to use all these clues. For example, if there are no beds where you are playing, simply leave out clue You will need to use plastic eggs for this game.
We suggest using one colored eggs for each team, so the Red team can only pick up Red Easter Eggs, the Blue team can only pick up Blue Easter Eggs, and so forth. Alternatively, paste stickers on the outside of the eggs to differentiate them for each team.
Temporarily bag all the eggs containing the same clue together and label the bag to avoid confusion when hiding the eggs. Prepare the Easter Treasure: These are your prizes or gifts. You can have a bigger gift for the winning team, and smaller gifts for all the other teams.
Hide the Easter eggs: Hide the Easter eggs such that the first clue leads you to the second clue, the second clue leads you to the third clue, and so forth. Hide the next clue near anything white. Hide the next clue near a faucet. Hide the next clue inside a shoe. Hide the next clue near anything round. Hide the next clue under anything made of wool. Example: blanket, coat, sweater, socks. Hide the next clue in a corner.
Hide the next clue inside a box of muffins. Hide the next clue inside a teapot. Hide the next clue inside or near a clock. Hide the next clue on a bed. Hide the Easter Treasure near a Bible. Attach this to the Easter Treasure. This can be a simple gift box containing a prize that the winning team can share. If you are using this activity as part of your Sunday school lesson, do not put anything inside the gift box.
Use this activity to introduce the story of the empty tomb before finally giving out your Easter Treasure Hunt prizes and gifts. Rules: To begin, give each team the Easter egg containing the first clue. Based on this first clue, teams will hunt for subsequent clues.

Supplies and Set-up: Divide players into 2 or more teams of roughly equal number. Use string, tape or cones to mark out 2 parallel lines to divide the playing field into 3 zones: 1. We recommend using a different colored Easter egg for each team. Teams should have equal number of Easter eggs. Players cannot step inside this area. Roll the eggs instead of toss. Using a straw in their mouth, players suck 6 different colored jellybeans, 1 at a time, and place them in 6 matching colored bowls.
Supplies and Set-up: Place 1 plate containing of 6 different colored jellybeans on a table. Place 6 small colored bowls near it. The colors of the bowls should match the colors of your jellybeans. Place a straw next to the plate. Supplies and Set-up: Place 10 soda bottles , evenly spaced on a table.
Secure them to the table using sticky tack. Place 1 Easter egg on each soda bottle. Place another table 10 feet away. Place it closer if you are playing with younger kids or if you prefer an easier game. Place at least 1 Nerf gun and 5 Nerf darts on this table. Having more sets of Nerf guns and darts will help move things along faster. How to Play: Stand behind the table and shoot the Easter eggs off the soda bottles.
Award 10 points for every Easter egg that falls off the soda bottles. Award prizes for: Players who score a perfect 50 points. The key is that the eggs must be opened in order to win the game. If the first child opens an egg that is not the first, they must close it and place it back in the middle.
The second child does the same. Each time children must remember where that piece is while reviewing the parts of the Easter story each time. When someone can open each in order sharing the Easter Story, everyone wins for a big treat! Make sure your Resurrection Eggs are not numbered or marked on the outside, and you may want to mix up the pieces in different color eggs than when you told the story. This just depends on the age of your children and how much challenge they need.
Another fun Easter game to play with Resurrection Eggs is to play a game of memory match. In half the eggs place a small object and in the other half of the eggs place a Scripture that goes with the item. Kids will open two eggs at a time hoping they match a Bible verse with the correct item.
What's inside the egg must be shown to all players. If they get a match, they get to hold on to the eggs. If they don't, they place the eggs back in the exact same spot and try to remember where they are for the next time.
For younger children, use glow-in-the-dark Easter Eggs for the hunt. Take a glow stick bracelet or other small glow stick item and place in each egg. These can be their prizes at the end!
Depending on the age of the children, hide these glow-in-the-dark Easter Eggs in the open or inside, under, or behind objects. For older children, use regular Easter Eggs for a fun hunt in the dark. Give each child a flashlight to spotlight the eggs with as they find them!

Keep playing until all the children have placed their eggs. Objective : To be the first team or player to place all their Easter eggs in order to spell out the verse.
You can also decorate the eggs using liquid chalk markers. You can also use this as a craft. Assign each child a different word of the Bible verse and have them write the words on the plastic eggs and then decorate them with the liquid chalk markers. Tell your children that on the word "go" they should take the eggs out of the Easter baskets and place them in order to spell out the Bible verse. Before class write words from the Bible verse on the plastic eggs.
Write the same word at least four times around the egg so the word can be seen no matter how the egg lays. Make more than one set of eggs. Place the eggs in the center of the table so that all the children can reach them. As you say a word from the verse tell your children to grab only the eggs with the word you say.
Say words that don't belong to the verse to confuse the children. Or say the words in the wrong order so children who grab too soon will have to listen more carefully. If a child grabs a egg before you say it, or grabs the wrong egg, he must put all his eggs back on the table. Keep playing until all the eggs are taken. Have your children take turns removing an egg and then saying the verse.
The child who can say the whole verse without any eggs left wins. Place the eggs on a table or floor in the middle of the children so that they spell out the Bible verse, and then remove random eggs placing them to the side of the egg that spell out the Bible verse.
Have your children take turns picking an egg that has been removed and placing it where they think the egg might belong to spell out the verse. Once the whole verse has been revealed, you can start again, but leave out different word eggs.
Have an Easter egg hunt, but tell your children that they are only aloud to find one egg. Also tell them that they cannot tell the other children what the word is on the egg they found. On the word "go" the children should try to put themselves in order to spell out the verse.
They may not say anything during the game. They may only use hand gestures and other non-verbal cues. If you have enough children you can play with teams.
